Traditional bracing with solid mahogany back and sides give the BR-140A a pure vintage sound. This understated yet, perfect guitar for any style of acoustic music. Fine black and white top purfling and the original abalone and pearl inlay work on the headstock are touches of fine art. Other features include all solid Honduran mahogany back and sides and solid Sitka spruce top. The BR-140A boasts a sound and style perfect for any style of music. Buy yours and never miss a tone or lick.
Crafted with a select solid ADIRONDACK spruce top, which is renowed for it's characteristiclly loud and accurate tone, hand-carved X-bracing, choice solid mahogany back and sides, and a traditional dovetail neck joint round out the BR-140A for pure Golden Era tone. Fine black and white top purfling and the original abalone and pearl inlay work on the headstock are touches of fine art. Aged finish completes the vintage look. The slim mahogany neck and traditional dreadnought body make it a truly enjoyable guitar to play.

The Historic Series offers authentic vintage style with strict adherence to the spirit of prewar instruments from the materials used to the ornate inlay work.
Looking back in history to unlock the secrets of what features truly make a great guitar, Saga Musical Instruments and Blueridge guitars have decided to raise the bar for production guitars by offering Adirondack spruce as an option to its already popular line of Blueridge guitars. What better way than to combine the already popular BR-140 with an upgraded Adirondack top. Introducing the new BR-140A! Truly a guitar with not only the vintage look and sound as a result of that legendary material...but without the high price tag!

One look at any Blueridge guitar will tell you that the craftsmandship, style and quality of the Golden Era are still alive and plainly evident in every guitar with the Blueridge name. The intricate MOP inlays, the careful workmanship and tremendous tonal quality of each Blueridge ensure that these fine guitars will be highly collectible. They're most definitely the benchmark of value and affordability today. Like the finest guitars of the Golden Era, each Blueridge has the traditional dovetail neck/body joint and each model's neck features an adjustable truss rod. The Kluson-style enclosed tuning machines with "butterbean" buttons, in either gold or nickel, have the perfect vintage look yet offer modern precision and feel.
If you've been searching for a Golden Era guitar that isn't priced like it's made of gold, then Blueridge guitars are for you. Reminiscent of fine American guitars built prior to WWII, Blueridge guitars are made with the same techniques as their antique counterparts, including many by-hand processes.

Like the best instruments, Blueridge guitars aren't overbuilt; they're crafted to be light and resonant. Meticulous attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is evident in the traditional, forward-position, hand-carved parabolic X-bracing which allows the solid Spruce top to ring loud and true. Blueridge guitars feature a traditional dovetail neck joint, slim mahogany neck, adjustable truss rod, and butterbean-button, Kluson-style tuning machines with an updated mechanism for modern precision and feel.

5 of 5 Blueridge BR-140A December 3, 2011
Reviewer: T. R. from Rural Northwest, United States
It sounds beautiful and the intonation was spot-on.

What most impressed me beyond the sound is how beautiful this guitar is.  The on-line photos cannot due it justice.  The Blueridge banner on the headstock looks like a sticker in photos, but in person is actually a beautiful mother-of-pearl design.   Also, right out of the box the action could not be any better.

I ordered this guitar on a Sunday afternoon through the Intrumentalley website.  Despite living in a very rural area, and choosing the free shipping option, I received my guitar exactly four days later!  I really like that it is drop-shipped directly from the primary supplier in San Francisco.  I figure the less steps to the delivery process, the better for my guitar.

The money I save by purchasing a Blueridge guitar is spent locally with the goal of providing neighbors with living wages.

I wholeheartedly recommend Blueridge and Instrumentalley.com.

Reviewer: Wallace Canales from Alice, TX United States
As advertised the guitar came set up nicely.  The included hard case was of good quality.  The guitar itself was immaculate, attention to detail wonderful.  The sound was extraordinary.  Sounds and plays like an instrument costing much more.  Would replace it readily if necessary.
