I've wanted a 00 guitar to learn fingerpicking on. I can't put this little machine down.
The 1 3/4 nut width is perfect. Not too wide. Not a sharp fret in the bunch. Intonation seems good. The body seems like a good depth.
The top finish is a little thick with a tiny bit of overspray. The inside is clean, but it smells like wood glue. Hopefully that will go away over time. The mahogany back and sides are beautiful.
Great tone for picking and strumming. It has a very rootsy/bluesy sound. I'm not sure I'd even notice if it were solid or laminate (but I haven't heard a solid L-00 in person).
If you like Steve Earle it sounds like him and those types of records. Very balanced tone. For picking, the '28 John Hurt album is a good guide. An RI songwriter Joe Fletcher plays the LO16. YouTube him. He hammers on his, tours the USA and it still sounds/looks great.
BTW: Instrument Alley did an excellent job Fast shipping with a hard case all for around $400. Great deal!
