If you're looking for a general purpose Tremolo pedal without modulation, this works well. It is quite similar to the Boss pedal at a substantial discount.

Overall, I think the Joyo Tremolo pedal is a good bargain. For the price, it's hard to complain. The pedal has both intensity and speed knobs to dial in how extreme and fast/slow you want the trem. That's a very basic platform for getting some cool sounds. However, I would prefer it to have a volume or level dial to control how loud the effect is. When the intensity is dialed up it becomes rather harsh to the ear, so it would be helpful to tame that by lowering the overall level of the effect. Also, my pedal has a bad construction defect: the 9V adapter plug is not centered, so it is difficult if not impossible to fit certain connectors into the power jack. Perhaps that is just an anomaly for mine. I plan to get around that by simply using a battery instead.

I can't speak to how long these Joyo pedals will hold up but they have a solid build and seem to be good clones of more expensive pedals.  You could buy 4 of these for the price of a boutique pedal.  And the sound is still pretty darn good.
