Description

Designed by world-renowned master builders Eiichi Sumi and Greg Rich, the custom shop mandolin is handmade from rare tone woods and features expert craftsmanship. The custom shop mandolin�s hand-carved top is made from centuries-old red spruce from northern Japan. This rare tonewood has the stability and strength to provide more carrying power and tone than other types of spruce. The mandolin also features flamed maple sides, a flamed hand-carved hard rock maple back, vintage stacked body binding, an Eastern hard rock maple neck, an ebony fretboard, an ebony peghead overlay, and ebony bridge. Each mandolin goes through numerous stages of voicing, and is crafted as a faithful reproduction from original 1920�s mandolins.
