Wow, what a good mandolin. Had a few tiny cosmetic things under the scroll but this is being very very picky. It sounds great on the bass and treble end. It would be perfect for a beginner or even an advanced player like myself (others may not say so), ha! The SF-100 mandolin is well worth the money and I would have paid even more.

You definitely get what you pay for. I wouldn't reccomend this for a beginner. This mandolin came with the bridge in the highest possible position. The tailpiece is off center and the tuning machines slip. I made some quick adjustments and the instrument will not stay in tune. It does have a nice sound to it, but I'm going to have to replace the tuning machines and the tailpiece, also the neck appears to have a slight warp in it. Spend a couple bucks more and buy something else. I repositioned the tailpiece and put a set of Grover tuners on it and it is now playable.

Best for the price |

I looked at so many mandolins for my wife. For an F-style, this was the best price and we were surprised at the great quality and tone for the price. It isn't on the same level as mandolins costing five and six hundred dollars but I would say it is on the same level as some in the 2-300 price range. You can't expect a Isuzu to ride like a Mercedes but the SF-100 provides all you need at a great price.
