Mandolin arrived in good condition. Shipping a little slow though. Seems to be a good mandolin for a beginner so far. I would suggest buying extra strings, one broke second time I played. pitch pipes may not be best for a first timer, going to look into a tuner. dvd pretty good for learning, but seems like a book should go with it. overall pretty good to do business with.

Mandolin Package

I just received my Johnson MA-100 Mandolin package the other day. I was pleased with the quality of the instrument for being a "starter kit". At the time I ordered the Mandolin I went and ordered two sets of quality strings because I read from someone else that the strings that came with the Johnson were cheap. Good advice because as I was tuning the Mandolin one of the "E" strings broke. The only other problem I had was in getting my order in a timely manner. I had a lot of communication between myself and Ben and some times he was not getting back with me. My order was being sent over seas and I had to pay shipping which I did not mind but could not get Ben to get me through that process. Other than that I'm pleased and would do business with him again.
