For its price an real steal |

I purchased a 6 st. JJ-330 in 12/08 and use it constantly. Its light, balanced, & playable. The green finish is pretty, and it looks like a more expensive bass than it actually is. (The only quibble is the hardware tarnished quickly.) It stands up to constant gigging. The active electronics are merely serviceable. (I boost its signal with a multi-effects pedal.) The low b string is tight and does not flop like many cheap 5 strings, but it lacks the bloom you get on a more expensive bass with a low b. The sonic quality of the E to C strings is good. (The set up job by InstrumentAlley was excellent.) For the price its a 1st rate bass, especially as a spare. I also recommend it to experienced players looking to try a 5 or 6 string without laying out an ungodly amount of money. For under $300 I have a solid, reliable, everyday bass that saves me from being paranoid about my expensive Fender in some of the joints I find myself playing in.
